Larry Morinia

Larry Morinia Jr was raised in Albuquerque, New Mexico and is one of the better players to ever come out of the state.  He graduated from Eldorado High School, where he was a McDonalds High School All American Honorable Mention.  Larry then began a very successful college career.  He spent the 2000-2001 season playing for Mesa Community College in Colorado.  As a freshman, Larry was named Team Captain and averaged 10 ppg and 3.4 apg.  For his sophomore season, Larry suited up for Lamar Community College.  Again, Larry was team captain and averaged 15 ppg, 4.2 apg, 5 rpg and 3 spg.  After this, Larry moved on to Montana State University-Northern where he had a very impressive two year career.  From 2002 to 2004, Larry averaged 20.5 ppg, 2.8apg, 3.1 rpg and 1.4 spg.  Larry was two year captain and a 5 time Conference Player of the Week. In 2004, he set the record for points per game (25.6 ppg) during conference play and was also named Conference MVP.

In 2004, Larry began a very impressive professional career.  He has played over 300 games for 17 different professional clubs, teams and organizations.  Larry has played in many European, Mexican and South American leagues as well as the ABA and NBDL.  Larry has career averages of 20.3ppg, 5.0apg, 3.8rpg and 2.1spg.  He has participated in 8 All Star games and has over 20 individual player awards and recognitions and has also been a league champion, in Germany’s North Regionalliga in 2008.

Larry’s many years of playing experience and expansive knowledge base makes him an indispensable asset and a vital part of REAL Hoops.
